Well, if you intend on skidding through your life on a grade 10 education, you will probably not make it very far in this economy. The people that you will be competing against for employment will be highly educated. To get hired you have to show that you are willing to jump through hoops for your employer, they want to see you be creative about how you present yourself to them at the job interview. You have to STAND OUT!!
If you are too much like everyone else, they won’t remember you. You have to be a little tenacious but not too much, know when to shut up and listen. Most times the employer or hiring manager will be very quiet and just watch how you act during the interview. The other thing to remember is that the employer will be looking for internet junk about you online, so you will want to have good things for them to find about you online.
Getting back to school, is the only way you are going to be able to compete with the talent that is out there. Think ahead. If you need a break from school, no big deal but expect that the job you are qualified for is probably not going to be the answer to all of your dreams and chances are that you will be highly replaceable; the minute you want more money, or, you are sick too often, or, you simply can’t get a babysitter. You will begin to become a liability. Not nice words I know, and I’m sorry to have to break it to you.
Stay in school and plan on taking courses to keep you at the top of your game while you are working at your job. The employer loves that!! If you work hard and bring value to the company you will become an asset and be harder to replace.
